Forgot about this blog...

Wow! I can't believe I had not remembered this blog.

I can say, since this last post I have been fortunate to have painted over

160 home portraits and have approx. 70 clients waiting patiently 

for their homes to be painted.

Each home I paint is unique and many are surrounded with 

what I can call "small miracles" as coincidence is just not going to 

explain it away. Want to share here some of those unique stories here

as documenting them in a place that is not only in my journals 

will leave me with these stories being told and shared.

For is you are witness to such miracles but don't share them,

what good are they to the rest of the world.

Being alone does not mean being lonely

A good friend of mine, sent me an article about "learning to enjoy being along" He sent it because he knows how I love living alone. It had me thinking that I hope people don't think I am lonely because I choose to live alone. So let me give some insight into this thought. I love living/being alone but I am not lonely. Home portraits

Mumsie’s Cottage, Not only the name for my art business But becoming known for home portraits.  My work is all done by myself, in which I learn as much as I can about the home  I am painting, choose old music sheets to place on  Old slate and begin painting.  What makes my work diffferent from any others I have seen Is that I make each one personal with many Prayers being sent to whomever I am painting for.  I can now say confidently I am an Attist.  Yet each one of my work has some type of story or miracle That can be told about it.  In the New Year I hope to give the stories of each said piece done  and the stories that surrounded them.  Although I have over 70 orders,  I continue to take orders as I know There is something to be learned with each piece I do.  Please follow along with me on this journey. September 2018 Stassi home

My second Home was the Stassi home, one in my garden district neighborhood. As pretty as it is, still one of my favorites, I look at it and see just how much easier home portraits have become for me. At this time, people on my facebook garden district page was showing much interest and I had about 10 orders. I thought I was overwhelmed back then,.. Now sitting on over 80 orders. I still had not begun to paint on slate yet and was using floor tiles. I remember this one being a challenge for me as I did not know how I would do those hurricane shutters and the brick walk way. I was new in learning how to seal my work and on this particular one, I had to unseal and reseal twice.  Of course, I was a novice back then, would not have called myself an artist by no means at this time. Yet, I knew I had fallen into something that no one else was doing and I wanted my portraits to be something personal, that when the client looked at the painting they had fond  memories of times spent there.
